Finally, another mock-up

Thanks once again to Phalanx for the picture. In difference to him, though, I will go on record as saying this is a likely contender. I just can´t guess what the black square is supposed to be. Any ideas on that?

EDIT Actually, I just had an idea on that myself. What if it´s a screen?

screen mmhh
why not a trackball or a gyroscope ?
assumption based on the rounded part around "nintendo"

Looks normal to me. To many buttons? Its the same configuration as the GC minus the triggers and an addition of two more buttons.

This mock-up looks strangely similar to a non-Nintendo patent that I came across while obsessively searching through the U.S. patent site:

http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=20030220142.PGNR.&OS=DN/20030220142&RS=DN/20030220142

Somehow, I'm still not convinced by this mock-up, but its better than no mock-up at all.

maybe the controller is naturally blurry

Most likely photoshopped...the clean white background and blurry image are fairly condemning in themselves. Check out the wavebird picture on this site:

http://www.gamecubeworld.net/artikel82.html

The straight-on shot, the white background, even down to the curved edges coming down from the "screen"...it seems too coincidental. I don't buy it.

to me it looks like someones photoshop skills werent that polished so they decided to blur it up. ill put money on it being a fake.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. The myriad of buttons on the thing had escaped me - tired and lacking glucose, as I was. The design is still intriguing and... good. Although it doesn´t really match the console either. I award it rank two of consoler mock-ups nevertheless, after the Russian (with no buttons at all).

FFS, it's plainly a photoshopped 'cube controller. For the love of God people.

Like Nintendo said that they want to to have a controller with "similar" fuctions or attributes as Nintendo DS.

With that said: :D!

plz take a moment and see/hear/feel by your self what I think the REV Controller might be heading.

The company website:
http://tactiva.com/tactapad.html

Note (see the movvie first!): Let say that the wizards from Nintendo can make those irritating lines (line flickers)disappear. Then I think this might be a very nice idea of playing games.

And Nintendo will for sure design a better looking devise then Tactiva's silly kindergarden-look-alike.

While I'm at it. Why don't I reveal my vision of what the next GameBoy dispaly technology might be. Or what a cool (hopefully cheap) accessory to the upcoming REV or maybe the one that will come out later? D

Well my idea is build on Nintendo might want to introduce their new revolutionary concept by using the stairway approach! Like letting gamers and non-gamers know how much you will enjoy more of game-experiences if you could afford the extra display. And this maybe by introducing a TactaPad-like REV game experiences but on your ordinary tv!?

Anyway. Thanks for a interesting read folks!

nintendo has invented a blurry controller.

teh revolution!11

Do you think the reason they don't show the bottom of it is because it has a middle handle like the N64? If you study it, it very much looks like you could play all the Nintendo systems using this. It incorporates all of them. It's either real or a very clever fake. The only setup that would be a bit weird would be GC.

its not fake and the black area is a touchpad but not a screen.

maybe the black screen shines light on a speculated story about the stereoscopic 3d thingy where the man had to blow on the floating bowling ball

Tech Demo?

a touch pad sounds expensive and soon to be underused. a trackball would be more simple.

trackballs get dirty...too easy

It is a third party pad for GameCube with a display, so no need for a tv screen. This is the patend regarding this one :

If you look at the controller, the blurriness isn't just random. It seems like two different images...stereoscopic 3D...two different views? When I look at it I see them blending together. Also, it doesn't just look like a WaveBird...there's something about it that's not so "fake" as other fakes.

Hey, that looks like a controller shell to me.
