´Pokemon Battle Revolution´ friend code rumour fake

The UK version of ´Pokemon Battle Revolution´ apparently "will not have the restrictions of the friend code system", an IGN board thread claimed, citing the country´s NGamer magazine (originally attributing it to the now defunct NGC mag).

I just got off the phone with the newsroom concerned. The magazine´s staff writer has categorically ruled out that such news is in the current issue - or, in fact, in any of them.

EDIT This story may very well not be fake, after all. The good people over at GoNintendo have published a scan of the article in question. Here it is.

I have just spoken to the editor again and mailed him the image. He will get back to me as soon as possible. So I am forced to withdraw my earlier statement that this rumour is definitely fake. Please bear with me while I get the official word in writing.

I must stress here that in the earlier conversation the editor left me in no doubt regarding the authenticity of the quote.

EDIT The scans are real, but the story is not. Here is the magazine´s reply:

Unfortunately, the curse of the magazine lead time has struck again. Since we wrote this piece -- with the understanding that our information was correct -- Nintendo has seemingly confirmed that Pokemon Battle Revolution *will* use game-specific Friend Codes.

Sorry for any confusion. The original IGN poster put quote marks around words we never actually used, which is why we weren't too sure what he was referring to at first.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding where this story finally landed...

Does this mean that the interpretation of the magazine information was wrong? If that's what it is, then I would say that it means that the game will use game-specific friend codes, but won't require them.

i love these kind of stories. you'd think Nintendo would take a hint from all this, but no.

instead we are left with yet another kick in the nuts!

Friend codes really only make sense when they are required. I also understand NGamer´s reply in this way. Hope that clears things up.

Well, no, it doesn't really clear things up, unfortunately.

A good example of friend codes being used but not necessary is the Rivals system from Metroid Prime Hunters.

Alternatively, it could be that you can add people who are in your Wii Address Book directly to the list, and it auto-exchanges the game-specific code.

Both would be consistent with what was claimed, and what Nintendo have said.

By the way, have they said anything regarding the other part (the 'friend codes not necessary in adult-rated games' part)?

You are quite right. Those are all possibilities we cannot rule out, based on the information we have available. In that sense, not every game may require friend codes. Sorry if I didn´t understand your point before.

While Pokemon not using FCs is false, what about the SquareEnix portion about using thier own network where games aimed at adults will not have FCs.

When I begin to play this Seal Online game, I first go to buy seal online cegel to buy some my favorite and beautiful clothes to dress up my character. I have spent cheap seal cegel to buy my favorite cloth. I mean we have anime and some necessary seal online cegel based games that do not look really kid dish. Though I will admit with my own seal cegel I went crazy on leveling with DECO. Some of the skills that we can use our sealonline cegel to improve to look amazing, and are fun to just watch honestly.
