Gaming news site Kotaku have surprisingly posted a number of images sent to them anonymously, which they think show "a yet to be announced Revolution title" called ´Sunder - Land of Divide´. This is surprising because any professional would find images like the following to be completely worthless for game development, even as concept art.
The entire image is flat and doesn´t help an artist trying to visualize the object in three dimensions at all. Nor do many of the other images. But I believe I can prove who is behind those fakes. It´s none other that our good friend Kenton Bailey, aka Thought_Epiphany, who was behind the BMW helmet hoax.
Consider the apparent game logo above. Then compare the planet in the center with the planet in Kenton´s ´Xenias´ mock-up from last year.
They are very similar. To show you just how similar they are, I have cut out and flipped the planet from the ´Xenias´ cartridge to match the planet in the ´Sunder - Land of Divide´ logo. Especially around the Nintendo logo you will notice that the planets match perfectly in structure and even colour.
I didn´t even have to resize the images. Both parts are directly pasted together and they join up perfectly. Also, both planets have the same blue glow around them.
If that isn´t enough for you, then consider the following image, which can be found on Kenton´s site Playbomb, which shows a homepage layout for a development studio called ´Chronicle Studios´ Kenton may have planned to found.
You will notice that the ´Chronicle Studios´ logo could be an earlier version of the one pixellated out in the ´Sunder - Land of Divide´ logo. Also, his love of serifed fonts (which is highly unusual in documents like these) betrays him further. I am sure you will agree that the evidence shows, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Kenton is trying to fool us once again.
Lastly, I´d hate to quash Kenton´s ambitions, but a good design document (the basis for any game) starts with a solid background story and a thorough description of gameplay mechanics. He is obviously more of a visual person and, if anything, should try to become an artist rather than a game designer. And he should stop making those silly fakes.
EDIT I was right all along. Kenton admitted to the scheme right here in the comments section. He then mailed the following statement to Kotaku:
We have come to the point that we understand the gaming world is starting to become stale idea wise. So we have developed a new genre, the IBG or “Integral Battle Game” in order to provide the gaming community with something entirely new and immersive. We promise that we will try to present the most unique and new experience possible.Incidentally, this "small blog" gets more hits than his Playbomb site. Dear Kenton, let´s not start to get personal. I, for one, have been very careful not to hurt your feelings speaking my mind about your art and the general state of your project. Instead, I have tried to offer you some advice. Let´s keep it civil, shall we? And you may need to think about apologizing to the community.
We were wanting Sunder to gain viral popularity via leaks over a few weeks time before we launched our site. LifeSpark Studios is a development company I and Derek Sarbou have founded and Sunder is a project we have been working on for months now. However, we felt it would get very little attention needed to get it seen by publishers if we launched the site without some form of viral release before the site launch. It is indeed a pitch package rather than a game in full development, but much time has been dedicated to it and so far we have accrued over 60 pages of information solely on the game itself.
The reason I am telling you this now is because a small blog has managed to successfully connect Sunder to me. The problem being that I have a known history for fakes/hoaxes concerning the Revolution. Of course, due to that fact people are now starting to label it as fake. That is just not true. We have no publisher or funding but the project is indeed a legitimate project. This is a legitimate project and we are looking for support.

I really don´t think so. Just have a look at that planet´s structure. It´s virtually identical.
ReplyDeleteFal, I want you to post a list of "rumored" game titles/leeked images that you think are real. I've lost track of the most likely contenders. It'll give me something to look forward to. :P
ReplyDeletehmmm... Thunder Emperor, Thought_Epiphany... hmm...
ReplyDeleteI would never put that much work into a fake dude. The Xenias image (which is not a hoax, but a mockup [read the disclaimer that runs vertically along the right hand side]) is small time.
ReplyDeleteI stopped doing fakes quite a while back. Also, the Chronicle layout is a deserted project, as is the game.
Also, those planets are obviously not the same planets.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are really providing evidence that it is fake. I'm sure it could be, but linking the two seems to be more of an artistic similarity then really anything concrete. I don't see the planets colour as the same and so what if the planets are the same size? With digital documents that highly questionable.
ReplyDeleteYou are stretching it on this one. It may be fake, but you are stetching it here.
i believe that you are on the 007 ship going with the sunset,i cant believe you have gone that way,I believe Nintendo would give screen shots soon then you will go saying these are fake also just to get something to report take it easy and do a good work like you do before....
ReplyDelete"Also, both planets have the same blue glow around them."
ReplyDeleteIt's called an atmosphere man, most planets have them. FKid, cmon man you are reaching desperately.
Thought-Epiphany did you nkow about this, did you send the e-mail? I want some straight out awnsers. If you did I want to know if you seen the game and if you have a screen shot send it to Revolution_Gamer_0069@hotmail.com and we will talk about it and keep it confindentail.
ReplyDeleteHow many planets we know have a blue atmosphere?
ReplyDelete...
The surface texture is obviously the same, too. Sorry!
Falafelkid > all
Well I discussed it with the rest of the team.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fala, you "proved" that it was fake so now I'm forced to prove that it is real!
It's true, I'm involved with Sunder. What's not true is that it is a hoax. We were just hoping to hype it up before we launch our site. Too late for that, though I'd say a decent amount of people have seen it now.
You'll see more info. on Kotaku shortly. It is indeed a real project, not currently in full development and without a publisher, but nothing about Sunder is fake.
Also, now that I can be open about it let me explain what you are seeing with the images you posted.
First off, I do most of the art for Sunder. The planets are not the same, nor are they the same size. The Sunder logo is sized down from an extremely high resolution. Only that version of the logo matches up with the planet I put in the Xenias mockup.
Anyhow, I'm known for fakes, but this is not one of them. We have been working on this for months. Keep an eye on Kotaku, Zogdog and Revolution Report. More information on the project is coming soon.
The project is fake in the sense that it is not approved by Nintendo. It has nothing to do with the Nintendo community - nor is it related to any other console. I wish you all the luck with it. But stop pretending this is relevant to the Revolution, because it isn´t and you are not fooling me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I never called ´Xenias´ a hoax. I called it a mock-up. Please read the post.
ReplyDeleteUmm ease up on the hate for Fal. You guys take things too seriously. RELAX. If he wants to use the word 'mate' he is free to do so. And I hear mate used by americans a lot as well, just Aus is where a lot say it and most likely originated from.
ReplyDeleteMy question to you Thought-Epiphany is why are you releasing it to these media co's and not the larger ones? If you are real then these other co's should listen to you.
The other is with the R, are you claiming this is revolutions logo? And you are also claiming the ON is real?
Regarding the planet, as its very white in colour its hard to tell if its the same planet as the other one. I am sure planet mockups are generally the same size but it is rather strange the planet didnt need to be resized.
Are you kidding me?
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm not claiming that On is real. The Xenias picture is just a mockup, it has nothing to do with Sunder at all. It's something I did for fun.
By the way, Kotaku was listed on National Television here recently as the #1 Gaming Blog on the Net. I'd say that's pretty big coverage.
It shouldn't be hard for anyone to believe that Sunder is real now that I'm coming out in the open about it.
I'm not making any kind of radical claims or anything. The game is still in conceptual stages and has no publisher or funding or anything. However, me and my friends who started LifeSpark Studios with me are confident we can get all of the above.
As of right now it is not an actual game, but rather a game project that we are confident we have the means to make happen.
There is nothing outrageous or unbelievable about that at all.
"The project is fake in the sense that it is not approved by Nintendo. It has nothing to do with the Nintendo community - nor is it related to any other console. I wish you all the luck with it. But stop pretending this is relevant to the Revolution, because it isn´t and you are not fooling me."
ReplyDeleteWe never said that it was approved by Nintendo. In fact we never said anything at all. All I did was e-mail Kotaku some illustrations for our game project. I didn't even say anything in the email, just sent pictures.
The images don't even say that Nintendo approved it. The Revolution is on there and the controller directions are on there because that's what the concept is being designed for: the Revolution.
We've been designing the world, the story, the weapons, the mechanics; everything.
We're aiming for it to be a truly next-generation game (in the sense that it is entirely new and groundbreaking as far as gameplay is concerned) for what we believe to be the only true next-generation system.
We never claimed anything whatsoever. So it is not fake in any way whatsoever. In fact it will just keep getting more real.
Hi Grandmaster B. Thanks for your comments. I actually use the word ´mate´ a lot because I lived in the UK for a long time. It´s widely used there, mostly in a kind manner.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this debate about Sunder is over. It´s TE´s future project and he wanted to advertise it by making us believe it could be a Rev title. Not so nice, TE. Remember who also abused the community to promote their own business?
Anyway, they haven´t started development and I would guess it´s doubtful that he has a proper team together already. If this ever comes to fruition, it will be a PC only title. No console manufacturer would approve a project by newcomers. New studios get into console development by doing ports, just as a little hint for you, TE. Oh, and good luck to you. I genuinely hope you can see this one through.
It will stop you from wasting your energy (and our time) doing fakes and mock-ups for a start.
Oh and Grandmaster B, if you don't believe me about the planet thing maybe you'll be more likely to take my word for it now.
ReplyDeleteBefore getting into game design I was really into space art.
Here's my gallery to show you.
http://thought-epiphany.deviantart.com
"and he wanted to advertise it by making us believe it could be a Rev title"
ReplyDeleteNope. I never claimed anything whatsoever. All I did was send Kotaku my pictures. Nothing in the emails at all.
Like I said: The Revolution + the phrase + the controllers are there because thats what the concept is being designed for: The Revolution.
Get your stories straight Fal. You're just angry because you were wrong about it being a hoax.
Anyhow, you are welcome to stop by LifeSpark when we get the site up. We could use a fan like you.
Hang on, there. Don´t try to tell us that you didn´t deliberately lead Kotaku to believe this was a project that was to come out for Revolution? They fell for it and so did a lot of others. And it´s because you made them believe by pasting Rev controllers on those images and explaining detailed controller functionality. Stop playing innocent now.
ReplyDeleteYou are saying the game is being designed for the Revolution? You can stop right now. It won´t happen. And you don´t seriously believe that you could get your game onto a console, do you? Like I said, a studio has to start by gaining experience doing PC stuff first, then move to the console field by doing ports. Good luck, you´ll need it.
"New studios get into console development by doing ports, just as a little hint for you, TE."
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should go read through Playbomb a bit and see what I have to say about the industry.
Also, since you have your own development company and make tons and tons of games and such I'm sure to take your advice seriously.
"They fell for it and so did a lot of others."
ReplyDeleteSee Fal you take things way to seriously, it's sad.
They didn't fall for anything. They wouldn't have posted it if it hadn't looked good enough to possibly play the part.
Kotaku basically said it could be fake it could be real but it was worth posting - and they were right.
And yes, I'm playing innocent. When I made those images I made them for circulation within the team only. I made no changes to them whatsoever when I decided that it would be a good idea to send them to Kotaku a week or so before site launch.
"You're just angry because you were wrong about it being a hoax."
ReplyDeleteDear Kenton. Why would I be angry? I read a story about a game that was supposed to be a Revoölution title, looked at that picture with the controller and knew it was you. I post it, you admit it was your little scheme. Why would I be wrong?
To you, this might be a real project. And, like I said, good luck to you all. But I call it a hoax because you wanted to make this project known by pretending this was a Revolution project. And you simply have no chance to publish this game on any console.
I understand you refuse to call this a hoax. Fair enough. But you shouldn´t forget I just outed you, mate. I was totally right about this.
Actually, my girlfriend is a developer. So are a number of my close friends. They are currently developing for PS2 and PSP and I know how they got there. I only wanted to offer some advice. If you don´t want to take it, fine.
ReplyDeleteDear Fal, why are you fighting for your story? I admitted you were right!
ReplyDeleteJust wrong about it being a hoax. Right about me doing it (someone who is known for doing hoaxes).
Also, you claim to know so much about what it takes to make it in the industry.
I'm in negotiations right now with both Novint (for game concepts) and Lexmark (for electronic paper designs, highly related to all entertainment).
I'll have you know that I on a personal level am not some nobody. However my own endeavor of starting a development company is completely in startup stage, admittedly.
The team is forming, the game is forming and eventually it may get to the point where it becomes impressive enough and with enough content to actually make it on the Rev.
Also, take a look back in history for a moment and tell me the majority of developers developed for the PC first. That's hard to say, as there was a time that console gaming was more popular than PC gaming. Partly because there was a time when there was almost no PC gaming market at all.
Also, you do realize that console games are actually "developed" on computers right?
ReplyDeleteIt's a back and forth process making a game for a console.
Oh and if you want to know why I censored "LifeSpark" from the developer logo it's because I myself have mentioned LifeSpark several times at Moz la Punk and on my own forums.
ReplyDeleteSo I knew that if people saw
"LifeSpark" they would connect it to me and then call it fake, just because it's connected to me, a big faker.
So basically the only way I could have it even looked at seriously for one moment was to leave out the developer name because my credibility is not very good when it comes to releasing mockups/etc...
Anyway, good luck with your blog. See you around.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.playbomb.com/?a=xdforum&xdforum_action=viewthread&xf_id=1&xt_id=198
Oops, sorry-
ReplyDeletehttp://www.playbomb.com/?a=xdforum&xdforum_action=viewthread&xf_id=1&xt_id=198
Sweet jesus, let's try that again.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.playbomb.com/?a=xdforum&xdforum_action=viewthread&xf_id=1&xt_id=198
HAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteOkay, just tag on "198" on the end.
Since nobody else seems to have said it yet...
ReplyDeleteGood Job, Falafelkid. Nobody else figured out who was behind this and you did.
LOL, this is crazy.
ReplyDelete"Anonymous said...

Falafelkid > all
5:18 PM"
Just wanted to answer that question.......
Three of our nine planets have a blue atmosphere. Earth, Uranus (a turqoise color), and Neptune. So that makes three. Now put that in proportion to all other planets in the universe that could have a blue atmosphere................
Thats one big number. Feel free to use scientific notation for that one. As for the textures you can't even tell.
T-E has a good concept from what I can see. It's good to see more people trying to do something original with their game stories. It's a really hard task to come up with high concept games and have them published or getting picked up. So give them a break.
ReplyDeleteTE I didnt say I didnt believe you, I said its rather strange regarding the planets.
ReplyDeleteHow many other media companies knocked you back is one thing I want to know? Were these the only ones that would listen?
In relation to the ON, I only skimmed through the article so I dont know Xenias vs Sunder anyway.
No they aren't the only ones that would listen, I didn't go around presenting things to these companies.
ReplyDeleteThey came to me. Novint wrote me after they saw a mockup I did in which I crossed their controller with a traditional controller to allow with use of a console. The design team liked it. (the large version is plausible, the small is not [if you've seen the picture]) We've been talking since.
As far as Lexmark is concerned I and a R & D head bumped into each other a little while back merely by chance.
Please if you are going to jump to conclusions do it after you read the article, rather than skimming it. I don't want people thinking I'm running around claim On is real and whatnot.
You won't get a dev-kit and by the way,if anything your "project" looks like a sci-fi cliche game.
ReplyDeleteIt is nothing special.
I dont understand why some of you guys are so negative about it!
ReplyDeleteDidnt Nintendo say, that they welcome small developers with interesting ideas?
That development in Revolution will be low cost compared to the other 2?
Also, remember that Raid over the river title? It seems they found a publisher and they will bring their game to the revolution.
If anything, the Sunder project looks promising so i hope the lifespark guys the best of luck.
T-E Can I just ask why you said to watch Rev Report? What affiliation do they have with this?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous. Good find there on Playbomb.com.

Now, I know I’ve been absent from the forums and site for a VERY long time now, and I appologise for that… But I saw this over at MLP, and HAD to come here first.
Kotaku.com
T-E? Do -you- have anything to do with this? No offence, but the style (and quality) of this absolutely reeks of T-E-ness.
…Just like to say, good job mate ;D

no i saw that though, people are talking about it on ign and gamespot too. while i think it COULD be real i also find many things about it suspicious, especially the revolution in the corner of the logo because it seems to be kind of pointless for a company to do that
lol it seems like everytime something happens now days people come and aks me if i did it
So much for TE playing innocent and pretending he never made anyone believe anything:
Nope. I never claimed anything whatsoever. All I did was send Kotaku my pictures. Nothing in the emails at all.
Kotaku just confirmed that falafel kid was right. Two rats down, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteFalafelkid, n5_dev came out and admitted that he was a fake. No surprise really, but I just thought I'd let you know.
ReplyDeleteI think Kenton is really going over the top now, trying to justify his lies. He commented on the Kotaku story:
ReplyDeleteMost people who keep up with the Revolution like to have material to speculate on when the well is running dry. Only those who think logically find no problem with it.
Kenton seems to feel only contempt for the Nintendo community. As if people like you or me would gladly eat up any silly fake just to have something to talk about. Pure impudence. I have better things to do than debunk over-ambitious gamers.
Hi Biggiesized. Thanks for the info. But Kevin let me in on the whole thing beforehand. I knew N5 came out as fake some days ago but was asked to allow the guy time to bow out of this with dignity.
ReplyDeleteDue to all the fakes out there do you blame me for skimming through the info TE?
ReplyDeletePlus I only asked a question. If the picture was never created in the first place I wouldnt be asking so dont blame me!
You have some explaining to do by the looks of what Fal has said........
By the way N5_Dev has confirmed he himself is a fake. What 'alledged' fakes are left, Mr Inc?
Osoko is an idiot and claims he isnt, its what makes him more pathetic.
Hi Grandmaster B. We didn´t realise this, but Kenton was actually doing us a favour with those fakes. [/irony]
ReplyDeleteIt's seem ON , NRS aloso SUNDER are all not real at all - -.
ReplyDeleteTo reduce confuse between mock-up and real it's better to overlay a little bigger size of text in picture
agreed
ReplyDeleteHi Pi. Further, I have no doubt in my mind that the whole ´No End Soon´ stuff is just as fake. Have you read that schedule they posted? Come on! Care to break your NDA again and post any more sensitive details, Mr. Inc? Anyone who thinks there could be any truth in that whole blog is, I am afraid to say, a fool.
ReplyDeleteAh geeze thought-epiphany look at pickle you've gotten yourself into! -_-' There's so much misunderstanding I can't even start to help clear things up here. Sure as a virtual marketing promotion it was a complete success, but on the public relations side it's been done in a way that either people get or they don't. :-S
ReplyDeleteAnyway ello falafelkid, I'm from the UK too. t-e means well, even if the technique was a little dodgy. And that quote you used with kfresh in, well he also knows t-e as you can tell and basically t-e was just playing along that he didn't know anything for a laugh. I mean technically it's still deception yes but not in the context you were using the quote for.
hey fal I think you might be jumpin the gun on this one so far I havent been fooled by a fake so far anyway the kneton the 007. so far i only go to 3 sites for info mr incs this one and revealing the rev (revealing the rev told us everything in detail that would happen in TGS and guess what it happened I would be amazed if he was fake) as for mr inc's blog I really do think that there is a game in the works and hes working on it also theres a hint that he works for ubisoft http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s11tfosibu can you find the hint anyway even though none of this proves he is real i still believe he is and we will find out in the coming weeks
ReplyDeleteDear Anonym. You seem very bitter. Is it because you do know that I really am a 32-year old television journalist who has been to every E3 since 2000 and who has interviewed Miyamoto, Iwata, Kojima, Wright, Meier and a a hundred other big names in the industry. Or ask Peter Molyneux about me, he knows me.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, send me your mail address and I´ll send you a nice postcard from Cologne or Los Angeles... wherever my job takes me. And if you get lucky I´ll get you favourite developer to sign it. You really need to get a more constructive hobby, by the way. I can only laugh about people like you ;)
^
ReplyDeletemore importantly, GO FIREFOX!
http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s11tfosibu&r=13
hey fal, can you keep a section regularly updated about whats you've found so far to be real and fake in this blog?
ReplyDeleteWhy do I get the feeling that A.N.Other blogger is responsible for some of these offensive Anonymous posts? (You know who I mean).
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone accuse Fkid of being a liar when there are no lies on this blog?
To the poster who commented on the legitimacy of RtR: NO, he DID NOT predicts TGS. He got it totally wrong! He claimed there would be some huge presentation with a planned "Technical Difficulty" where Mario would come on screen and then go on to talk about the Rev in depth. None of that ever happened though. He later claimed that they changed their plan before he knew it, which is why he was wrong. *coughcoverupcough* I'm faily sure he's fake. Every since that mistake he's been extremely vague in his information (so that he can't be totally wrong again) and he now claims his contacts are currently limited and outdated. It's a joke.
ReplyDeleteFalafelkid if you really did interview those people then you would use your real name for this blog. Why use some kind of fake stage name?
ReplyDeleteIt is because you are a kid. It is ok. Just call it like it is. If you were a man it would be sad that you do this because it would mean you dont have a life
true anon you are right there was no "Technical Difficulty" which he did say would happen I admit he was wrong BUT he never said mario would caome on and talk in dept about the rev or am I reading the wrong post (please post it if I am thanks in advance) heres what I read and was posted "There is a difference this time around with Nintendo's presentation. There is supposed to be some type of planned "interference" during a showing. Don't know much else besides that." thats all he said about the "interference" it could be possible nintendo scrapped the idea before the show im not trying to give him an out im just trying to explore the possibilitys the same goes for my last post so please take no offence
ReplyDeleteRtR is fake get over it already, so isnt mr inc
ReplyDeleteblizz you said "RtR is fake get over it already, so isnt mr inc"
ReplyDeletedid you mean to say RtR is fake get over it already, so isnt mr inc?
or RtR is fake get over it already, so is mr inc.
just checking and as I said before im just exploring the posibilitys although admitably i do believe they're both real
Thanks Blizz419 and thanks Anonym for defending me. I can´t tell you how good that feels that there are people out there on the net who you´ve never met but who are prepared to stick up for you. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAs to my name, Blizz419 is totally right. I have posted my name on this blog numerous times and if you´d read anything here, you´d know. But just for the sake of this one little hater out there, my name is Andreas Garbe and I work for RTL II German television. You can check some of the items I produced over the last six years in our internet games archive here, if you can read German.
I am off work until Wednesday, but I will post a photo of me and Miyamoto playing DS at last year´s E3, just so those little kids shut up.
And, once again, thanks to everyone who has supported me and enjoys visiting this site.
i understand you are exploring the possibilities, but it is blatantly obvious that they are fake, and Falafel no problem anytime
ReplyDeleteI see how you feel blizz unfortunatly I still feel that the mr inc is real revealing the rev not as much but I still do untill they themselves reveal that they are fake which if they are they will have to within the next few weeks at least for mr inc anyway
ReplyDeletebut I would like to hear how you concluded they are fake just to help me see your point of view better and if you could please uses "'s it helps thanks in advance
if they were real, they would be breaking NDA's also when does nintendo info ever get leaked, um like never they are the best in the industry at keeping secrets, also they have never done anything to prove they are real so why should i believe them. also if your looking for more reason's ask falafel i'm sure he'll be able to give more reasons with substance to back it up as usual.
ReplyDeletefalafelkid is a phony. First of all let me say something. This is my first time posting in the comments. I am sure there are many people like me who come to these things and dont post. However Falafelkid states that he is from Cologne Germany. Does anyone know why he picked Cologne? I can tell you why.
ReplyDeleteIt is the sister city to Kyoto Japan where Nintendo of Japan is.
Furthermore Falafelkid rarely used Mate until recently.
The guy keeps on saying he has a girlfriend. He is using a cover for himself. He is probably a homo.
Now before you laugh that is what sexual predators do. They want to seem like you then they strike.
So in my opinion Falafelkid is a some kind of sick twisted sexual predator.
He is extremely phony.
And I caution all kids who come here to beware of him. He does not give anyone his name, and if he is truly 32 years old then he is hunting small children.
If he was a legitimate journalist then he would have his name here showing off his work.
Think about it why would someone who is a legitimate journalist who goes to E3 keep his name in secrecy?
He is someone who is a fake teenage kid or someone you all should be really scared of.
He does have a point. I have been worrying about that about this guy. Maybe we should just stick to Nintendo.com.
ReplyDeleteWhat you think?
what is that a retards poor attempt at cloning my name lol
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a fan there, Blizz419, He wants to be just like you. Only dyslexic. *lol*
ReplyDeleteI do have to admit that Blitz and Falafelkid always seem to post together. I am not saying you a sexual predator falafelkid however it is weird you dont use your real name.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore it is weird how you and Blitz always post together.
Furthermore I am 15 and I thought that it was strange to have a 32 year old blogging about Nintendo.
As a matter of fact you are kinda weird.
(backing up slowly to the door...runs quickly)
Hey WatchoutforFalafelkid. Want to play a little game? I could open a new blog and call myself WatchoutforWatchoutforFalafelkid and then could get a new nick again: WatchoutforWatchoutforWatchoutforFalafelkid. Wouldn´t that be fun? Or would you just like your medicine now?
ReplyDeleteWhy do you have to make this about the blogs?
ReplyDeleteFal, I'm surprised I offended you with "small blog", as I did not mention your blogs name at all.
But if you want to make this a traffic war/popularity war...
Playbomb has front paged Digg.com about 7 times now, one of the most highly trafficked sites on the net. It's almost equivalent to being Slashdotted. Since I didn't have my images coral cached the bandwidth bill initially cost me over a hundred dollars due to the initial traffic.
I don't know how many times our articles have been on Kotaku and Joystiq, also known as two of the largest names in gaming blogdom. You're so good at research (which you indeed really are), go do the math.
Also, your blogspot blog is highly commented on, which is a good thing. Playbomb's community doesn't dwell in the comments, it dwells in the forums, which you can check out and take a look at those numbers.
However, I'll admit, there's been a lack of updates lately. That's because all I've been doing is expanding the Sunder concept.
Also with further investigation and a good deal less misquoting out of context, you and others may realize I only initially denied it because I hadn't spoke to anyone else in LifeSpark. As soon as we agreed, sure, say he's right - then I did.
Anyhow, you must admit your "advice" was intentionally hostile as you have never liked me.
Fal, I want you to think of me for a moment, if it weren't for people like me you would have no blog at all, as all you do is try to find a reason to call anything and everything fake.
At least Playbomb reports news from all the facets of gaming, rather than one select group.
And what's a guy that works with television doing dedicating all of his, no doubt precious time, to running a blog that spends all of it's time trying to debunk cruddy photoshops and random fake bloggers?
You may not create or post anything fake, but you yourself are a fake, Fal, just like everyone is saying.
I meant Blizz omg you are playing with my mind!!!!
ReplyDeleteBlizz is Falafelkid. I guarantee it.
ReplyDeleteHe is not a journalist at all. This guys is all a bunch of lies.
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt be suprised if that is not even his real name. Check this forum where Andreas responds to IT questions. Furthermore on my Nintendo site I just received an email that this guys is living a lie.
He is not a journalist and he never has been to E3
"And what's a guy that works with television doing dedicating all of his, no doubt precious time, to running a blog that spends all of it's time trying to debunk cruddy photoshops and random fake bloggers?"
ReplyDeleteReposted for emphasis. Actually Fal... provide 100% proof you do what you say you do.
Even if you do, it won't change the fact that you are making terribly wrong assumptions about me and throwing around childish accusations that I don't care about the Nintendo community.

ReplyDeleteguys stop flaming and act like professionals blitz (the fake) and watchoutforfal both you calm down and fal and blitz act better fal I expect more out of you he is simply trying to piss you off and it seems he has done a very good job of it stop the flaming
ReplyDeleteBTW im the anon who posted "I see how you feel blizz unfortunatly I still feel that the mr inc is real revealing the rev not as much but I still do untill they themselves reveal that they are fake which if they are they will have to within the next few weeks at least for mr inc anyway
but I would like to hear how you concluded they are fake just to help me see your point of view better and if you could please uses "'s it helps thanks in advance"
To everyone:
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kenton Bailey, I have done alot of fakes in the past, Sunder is not one of them. A few months ago I and Derek Sarbou formed LifeSpark Studios and began work on a project we are confident can someday make it to the Revolution.

I live in Ky, hickville United States. I'm American, I'm 19 years old.
I have left my footprint in all sorts of places all over the internet so I am VERY easy to find/track/research.
However, Falafelkid can prove nothing about himself to you whatsoever. He is a hypocrite and is not who he says he is.
His motivation for starting the blog in the beginning was a little less savory than what people might think in that he originally was going to be much akin to the likes Osoko Tanaka etc... but decided to spend all his time debunking rumors when that's what he became known for, which he is very good at.
So, Fal to podium, who are you and why can anyone here trust your word for anything anyway?
At least I'm real.
"FAKE
ReplyDeleteOne thing is that one of the gun's control descriptions was simply swing controller to melee, but wouldn't swinging cause the camera to go wild and make the melee attack just some spastic move without a disengage free-hand controller control for looking/aiming? I mean, think about it. It controls where the camera is looking, so you can't just swing it without moving the camera too. It makes no sense.
So that's why I think it is fake (besides all the other stuff Fafel pointed out)."
LAMARD, that's what the nanchaku attatchment is for (analog stick attatchment). I'm guessing you don't play too many FPS style games, or if you do you haven't really considered how it might be played with the Revolution
Kenton dont worry about it. Falafelkid is a punk.
ReplyDeleteYou art work is really impressive. You should keep it up. :)
Kenton Bailey just burned Falafelkid who is a little punk bitch. Check us out over at RevoGaming.net
ReplyDeleteA Real Nintendo Website!
Boyyyyiiieeeeeee
Good work falafelkid.
ReplyDeleteAber RTL2 ist trotzdem doof! ;P
wow fal is wrong what else could fal be wrong about
ReplyDeleteheres the article http://www.revogaming.net/html/modules/news/article.php?storyid=221
Most of the anonymous falafelkid bashers, in my opinion, are those how scower the web for Nintendo rumours (aries, sg007). When Falafelkid posts only speculation and actual news (making absolutely NO statements about secrets he 'knows' about Nintendo), these kids get very anxious. Someone who reports news and opinion cannot be a lyer if they make no false claims.
ReplyDeleteQuestioning his sexuality is like social suicide - it makes you look like you're 12 (and many of you likely are).
To be fair, falafelkid's evidence on this one wasn't completely convincing, but he was right in the end.
The 'company' DID use the Revolution controller, and claimed that it was a game in development for the revolution. While one would be absolutely true in saying that they were developing for the Revolution, it is a misguiding statement as it makes one believe that the company acutally has means to get it on the Revolution. Currently, ThoughtEpiphany has NO way to get this game on the revolution, and it is merely a pipe dream which MAY come true in the next 4 years.
It also MAY come to pass in the next four years that I learn how to fly.
It's not going to happen, but I can still say "I'm working on learning how to fly."
So was it an outright lie? No. A hoax? I'd say definitely. It depends on your definition of the word, but you really were trying to misguide people.
I'd say there would be some form of comedic justice if publishers that were considering you found out about this episode and then refused to pick up your game.
I said it would be comedic. Not meaning I wish it. An old man getting hit in the groin with a football is comedic, but very unfortunate.
Best of luck, Thought Epiphany. You need it.
falafelkid, nice catch. And I have to agree with you in a very general sense that developers go from PC games to consoles. In this case though I cannot be certain because Nintendo has made the Revolution specifically to be accessable to 'indie' developers. A two man team is too small, but bring that up to 10-15 and they might have a chance if they have talent. I'm not sure a game of THIS scale could be created this way. Also, thought-epiphany, I have read some of you tech specs and have to mention a few notable things. You have several weapons that are very heavy and you have invented a component that cancels the effect of gravity on these super density weapons but you might like to know that a 700lb grenade is still impossible to throw even if it is floating because it still weighs 700lbs and you need a force greater than the inherent inertial force of 700lbs to move it. I would recommend some type of power armor (cliche at best) of have the "nanons" which has been stated are capable of adjucting their trajectories, be able to infer the direction they are to be thrown and start moving that direction. Some of your weapon designs are pretty creative (in a good way) though the repitition of using "nanons" takes away a bit from the overall realism. I would recommend coming up with a few different technologies that perform the same function and switch up the wordage a little. I for one am interested in your game idea and when your site goes up I will try and give you some more constructive criticism.
ReplyDeleteHi TE. Glad to hear your site is doing well, maybe even better than my site. That´s good. Obviously I found ´small blog´ slightly offensive, since you know this is one of the bigger ones in terms of traffic. I had a peak of around 8.000 visits a day when I discovered those mapping patents last month. Now it´s less, but around 3.000 is still impressive. Anyway, I genuinely hope you are doing better than that.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, you must admit your "advice" was intentionally hostile as you have never liked me.
Not at all. Why would I not like you? I grow tired of your fakes, but hey! Maybe you´ll learn this time. I seriously wanted to give you an idea how most studios start. One of my best friends in England has his studio and they started with some PC titles and worked their way into console development doing ports. You see, a publisher will trust a studio that they don´t know yet more easily with a port. If they do that well, they obviously have good coders. Now, my friend´s studio is developing for PS2 and PSP.
Fal, I want you to think of me for a moment, if it weren't for people like me you would have no blog at all, as all you do is try to find a reason to call anything and everything fake.
If you say that one more time, I´m going to get very angry, Kenton. There are so many aspects I would rather discuss than debunking your fakes. We have a wealth of patents, for a start. Then there are so many mysterious comments Nintendo made that haven´t yet been discussed in great detail. And, finally, there are all the interviews and conferences I have on tape in the newsroom, which I could be transcribing for everyone´s enjoyment. All you do with your fakes is prevent any real discussion and real progress. You are wasting our time, Kenton. I am sorry to say. That´s it.
At least Playbomb reports news from all the facets of gaming, rather than one select group.
I don´t follow. I don´t see you doing anything different to me. I am trying to provide a summary of all news that are Nintendo Revolution related here. And I wish you would concentrate on similarly constructive work, like your projects or, indeed, Playbomb. You are right about the lack of updates on your site by the way.
And what's a guy that works with television doing dedicating all of his, no doubt precious time, to running a blog that spends all of it's time trying to debunk cruddy photoshops and random fake bloggers?
My time is indeed precious, I would say. But at work, I only get to report about games within eighty-second items. Here, I can delve into whatever detail level I want. And the biggest reward is to read some comments here by some anonymous wanker, calling you all kind of names, and have some reader defend you. That´s why I do it. And that is based on what I call community. To stick up for one another.
If you´d stop with those fakes, I´d be sticking up for you too. Think about it.
Anonymous, I understand where you are coming from BUT:
ReplyDeleteWe did not claim it was in development for the Revolution. It says "The next-generation game for the next-generation console."
FOR the next generation console, we are making it (obviosly) and what we are doing it FOR is the Revolution.
I completely acknowledge successful projects never start out this way, but I am confident this will be different.
Besides, you would need to be stupid for this fiasco to affect whether you think the game could be successful or not.
It was on the internet for like 3 days without people knowing where it came from.
I'd say that's hardly industry suicide.
Oh by the way, I forgot to mention I'm gay. The only reason I'm acting retarded and getting on everbody's nerves is because I've lost my buttplug...
ReplyDeletewow there was alot of posts in the 30 minutes it took me to get home from work. first off i am not falafel i am not a journalist i do not live in Europe, i live in Attleboro Massachusetts USA, i work for a contractor making shop drawings and my name is not blitz its Blizz there is no "t" please stop assuming i'm falafel i stick up for him becouse i respect him and he dont make up lies and claim to know secrets and such unlike people like Tanaka, SG007, mr inc, revealing the rev and others similer to him just facts and speculation thats why i stick up for him you dont like it then go fuck yourself cuz your useless
ReplyDelete"If you´d stop with those fakes, I´d be sticking up for you too. Think about it."
ReplyDeleteOnce again Fal, I haven't done a fake in months. Sunder is a legitimate project, we just released pieces of it without saying where it came from.
By the way, besides my past fakes, I too have a pretty big name when it comes down to determining other fakes. Of course, all of that action goes down in the Moz la Punk forums.
For example I, through the Japanese Trademark Office, found one of the first truly legitimate Revolution logos and showed it to everyone all with all the neccessary links and information to go and see that it was true.
Now the logo floats around the internet with people calling it fake because they don't actually want to check into things. It's good though, because the logo was kind of lame. I'm 100% sure they changed it now, as it was really really old.
Anyhow, what I mean to say is I don't hinder progress in discovering the Revolution. Despite all I have done, people don't really realize how many interesting facts I dug up while at MLP.
The finds far outweighed my fakes, which are fun to look at and fleeting in their time.
again so i'm sure its seen
Hi Benjdude. Thanks for your comments. You are right, Nintendo would like to attract more indie developers. But maybe we differ on what that term means. Obviously, an indie developer is still a developer. You have to have experience in the first place. But Nintendo wants to attract precisely those studios that have done some good PC work but are not yet ready to make big publishing deals that will get them onto the consoles or cannot afford expensive dev kits. But they will have to start on PCs anyway, since it´s an open source platform (and thus cheap), as well as essential experience (developing for consoles is no different to PC development as far as the artists and level designers are concerned, it´s still all Maya and Max).
ReplyDeletesomeone with a fetish for buttplugs is obviously resorting to cloning my name and posting as "thought-epiphany".
ReplyDeleteand with that, this is my last and final comment to point out all further comments posted as "thought-epiphany" are not me.
anyway fal, like i said, good luck with everything, though i feel this whole matter will backlash on you if you don't provide proof of who you are very soon.
and E-P the whiole i havent done a fake in months dont help, once you've done some faking all credibility is lost no offense but thats how its generally viewed
ReplyDeletefalafelkid, no, we agree totally. I understand what an 'indie' game is and what 'indie' developers are. I hope you don't think that I was criticising you in any way. In fact I said "if they have talent" and also said that this game looks to be out of the development capability of such a small team (10-15) which is obviously much larger than the two in the current sunder team. On the other hand if they can market their idea to the right people and add talented programmers and artists to their team who have experience I would be wary to say that it would automatically flop simply because Nintendo wants to be accessable to smaller companies who have #1 less experience, #2 smaller teams, #3 less capitol to invest. Perhaps THIS project will fail, but somewhere there is a game at the same stage as this one (an idea mostly) with 2 people and a dream and it will probably succeed due to the development tools that Nintendo can provide, the publishing power of Nintendo (afterall, who do you think will publish that majority of these indie games?) and the new strides that Nintendo is sure to make based on their love for the indie developer. It will happen during the life of the Revolution. Math would give "Sunder" poor odds, but it means they DO have a chance.
ReplyDeleteDon´t worry TE. My site will be fine. To stop any doubters right from the start, I will post some images of me playing DS with Miyamoto last May. I just hope that noone will hold a grudge against you for your ... unusual way of advertising, shall we say. You won´t call it a fake. but you shouldn´t have pasted Rev controller onto it and you shouldn´t have sent it to a news site anonymously. Whether fake or not, it´s dishonest and that could seriously damage your news site´s credibility. I hope it won´t and I hope you will be as committed to constructive work as you say you are. If so, we could even become friends one day.
ReplyDelete@ thought-epiphany
ReplyDeleteThis "someone" using your name to post is no better than you posting the other anonymous comments with pathetic attacks on Fal just to make it look like you're being backed by others.
Grow up man!
Just pray Nintendo doesn't find out about your doings, they could sue you.
So don't talk shit and get a life...
LMAO sorry man but that was dumb, Nintendo would not waste there time suing over this that would just be pathetic
ReplyDeleteShhh... not so loud... I was just trying to scare him... ;-)
ReplyDeleteAlso it is not quite as pathetic as you make out. You should check out what Ferrari does to its simple fans who 'misuse' their trade emblem...
ReplyDeleter u guys on crack? nintendo wouldnt so over this that would be like nintendo suing over no end soon or xenias or people who put out leaks and that kind of stuff. nintendo doesnt care its positive publicity.
ReplyDeleteThis revolution blog is my favorite by far. It's the only one that I've found that does actual investigative journalism.
ReplyDeleteTo Falafel, why don't you stop bothering yourself with the obvious fakes(no end soon, serious gamer 007, zogdog, ect.) and actually try to dig up some real revolution screenshots for us. Stop wasting your time with these kids and get us some good info!
Hey Falafel i found another joker check this blog out lol
ReplyDeletehttp://revolutiongamer.blogspot.com
You people obviously don't know what you're talking about. I'm waiting for valid proof of this so-called-fake. I used to visit this site, because it had great material. Due to you accusing someone about their work being a fake without valid proof, I am leaving this site for good.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this has been said but guys and Falafelkid this game is real. The developers of the game came out and said so. Go and check out Kotaku and they will tell you. Oh man this is great.
ReplyDeleteFrom an interview
ReplyDelete> - You want Sunder to become a real game, how do you think your recent
> anonymous 'leaks' would've helped you achieve that?
I don't think it will have made that much of a difference. I essentially just wanted the game to get looked at seriously, without people being pre-judgemental because it is a project from an indie developer. It's much akin to how Nintendo isn't showing graphics for the Revolution at the moment. They say it's because when all the aspects of the Revolution are combined with great gameplay the graphic difference when in comparison to the other consoles will be trivial.
We are looking at it the same way, it's the idea that counts. It's the possible final product. We feel that just because we are small doesn't mean that we can't achieve what we have set as our goal.
Yeah, they line up so perfectly that the edges don't match. And they are almost identical, in that they are both round. Gtfo and go get a job, luser.
ReplyDeleteand look at the idiots posting tonight, is there a full moon or somethin
ReplyDeleteWow where did all these 12 year olds come from?
ReplyDeleteHey falafelkid check this article out
ReplyDeletehttp://www.gameshout.com/news/012006/article2745.htm
It says something about a new revo-game. Thought you might be able to look into it.
Falafelkid's Alexa Traffic rating: 434,672
ReplyDeletePlaybomb's Alexa Traffic rating: 313,239
Lower is better so you better check the facts before you make crazy accusations. Playbomb gets more hits than your "small blog".
hahah falafelkid got owned, better change your article falafelkid
ReplyDeletehttp://www.alexa.com
ReplyDeletecheck the facts, playbomb owned you
Alexa does not work well with blogs.
ReplyDeleteMy site on Alexa is 28 and I get less than 500 visitors a day.
ReplyDeleteWhich means it doesn't work for blogs so Fala site maybe higher up than Playbomb.
You're getting the results for blogger.com, you just don't get enough hits to get your own ranking.
ReplyDeleteI think that Falafel is a good journalist. His Blog is well written and all the articles describe the fact clearly and show a good point of analysis/criticism. I don't care if he even is a martian with three noses and green skin, he did (for me, obviously) a good job so i hope he will continue to do it!Keep up the good work Falafelkid!

(Italy)
P.S. Sorry for the (so called) english in my posts
T-E Said:
ReplyDelete"Since I didn't have my images coral cached the bandwidth bill initially cost me over a hundred dollars due to the initial traffic."
Don't you mean it cost your parents? Or did you mean your brother? I know that you don't have a job and still live with your parents.
Hi everyone. Let me say that I don´t want this to turn into a traffic war. As I said, if Playbomb gets more traffic than this site, good luck to them. I hope TE can get his site off the ground and turn it into a business. I just highly doubted that they had the traffic I have been fortunate enough to get. Like I said, in December I peaked at more than 8.000 visits a day. Since its inception, the site has had almost half a million visits. That´s pretty good by any standards, I would say. And TE´s comment was obviously patronizing. I never wanted to appear arrogant, though. If I did, I apologize.
ReplyDeleteI must mention, though, that there is some confusion about the term ´indie developer´, which Nintendo is wanting to attract. Obviously an indie developer (in the eyes of Nintendo) is still a developer. Those are teams who are professionals already. They will have to have done games before and that means they will have to consist of at least one designer who writes the design document and serves as spokesperson, one skilled programmer to write code and at least one artist who can use Maya and Max for modelling, level design and exporting into the engine (the rest of the team could be filled with freelancers, as workload dictates). They will have to have done something already to be considered a possible partner for a console manufacturer. They may not need to have published a game, but they should have something to show for themselves. They should have successfully entered a competition like the Independent Games Festival, at the very least.
A dev kit is the most precious type of console (if you want to call it a console) and I know how hard it is to get hold of a debug console (we were given a PSOne and Xbox debug only). When a whole batch of Xbox360 dev kits were stolen in Germany last year, Microsoft was shitting a brick. And they made sure every single one of them was recovered. Just consider that, please. The stakes for console development are very high, indeed. I am not saying TE and his team are not up for the job. I just haven´t heard about them having developed games already or being skilled with tools like Maya or working with game engines. If they are skilled and have developed games already, they have a chance. But an ´indie developer´ is still a developer.
Hi Anonym ("why don't you stop bothering yourself with the obvious fakes"). I agree totally. It´s time I moved on. I could spend a week calling people and proving that there´s no such thing as ´No End Soon´ but how would that help? Most people that come here know that´s obviously fake, anyway. Good point, I´ll try to deliver.
Hi Blizz419. Thanks for the link to the blog. have a close look at that apparent menu. You´ll notice that the font used is ´Pretendo´ or whatever it´s called, the Nintendo logo font you can download as a TTF file. That´s so amateurish. Nintendo would never ever use that font for anything other than their logo.
Hi Anonym ("check this article out"). That article refers to ´Sunder´, the project we are talking about here. It´s nothing new.
Hi Luca S. Thank you ever so much for your kind words. I will try to keep up the kind of work you have gotten used to here. Your English is perfect by the way. Didn´t see any mistakes, anyway.
""Since I didn't have my images coral cached the bandwidth bill initially cost me over a hundred dollars due to the initial traffic."
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean it cost your parents? Or did you mean your brother? I know that you don't have a job and still live with your parents.""
At the time Playbomb was alot more popular than it is now, as I haven't been updating lately. Popular enough and bringing in enough ad revenue to pay off the initial bandwidth bills.
Digg + Adsense = Money. It was doing good enough you could consider it self employment.
My parents and my brother don't pay for me. I live here since I took a break from college for other endeavors but I don't mooch. Besides, I'll be moving to New York here soon.
Anyway Fal I just figure I'd let you know, since you seem to be wondering.
I have experience in Maya, 3d Studio Max and Blender. I also dabbled with the Unreal Engine a bit. Chances are I won't be doing any of the modeling though as we do indeed have somebody in place to cover the initial modeling in case we do get to that point.
I work for Chicago based Crossbeam Studios Entertainment ( CSE ) as well as a concept artist for Orb, a project they have been working on for years now.
http://www.crossbeamstudios.com
Unfortunately the server their site was hosted on was subject to a massive denial of service attack here recently, and their website was lost. They are rebuilding it though, check them out.
Anyhow thanks for your wishes and realistic outlook. Hopefully in due time we will have more to show you to let you know we are serious about this.
"and with that, this is my last and final comment to point out all further comments posted as "thought-epiphany" are not me."
ReplyDelete^^
Sorry no dispect but you grow very tiring TE. You give us the indication that you are leaving the blog but come back?
ReplyDeleteIf you are what you say you are let your work speak for itself and stop typing word after word trying to prove yourself otherwise its just all talk. Now I am not saying you are fake so dont reply with a 300 word reply, just get back to doing what your doing and prove it to us and make a good game, stop talking. If you have nothing to persuade us for, then dont waste your time defending yourself.
I dont doubt Fal's reputation at all, he has a lot more integrity than 90% of the people here. That for one at least shows something positive towards his credibility.
Heh too much bs goes on the internet its not funny. People take everything to heart and so seriously.
Now I wish Nintendo would release full info just to shut everyone up more than knowing what this console will do.
News, facts and cut the bs/talk everyone. Discuss, not fight/flame as it serves nothing.
Grandmaster, the last post I made wasn't flaming, I was telling Fal our situation at LifeSpark.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't post here but this is the source of our negative press, though I don't blame him.
I have been posting news and facts, just look in the right places for it. You'll find the controls/movement on Kotaku most likely tonight or tomorrow morning tagged with the interview.
Otherwise you can find it on Moz la Punk at this very moment. You can also find all the fullsize versions of what we had released, plus a new image of the Sunderan core in the IGN Revolution Lobby (not the insider board, as it costs money and we currently don't have much to spare).
the posted movement and stuff camera anchors to rev controller movement.
ReplyDeletethey added like some stabilize featrue for melee stuff
As many of you know I am Gay. I wanted to say a quick hello to my friends in the Gay community.
ReplyDeletePower to the Rainbow!

ReplyDeleteTa!
Kenton is a legend
ReplyDeleteand that guy who called you gay is just a prat
Then again Im not a fan of you either, but have some respect people
