Why wait so long to release a new installment of Mario? The wait is frustrating players everywhere...
Mario is and always has been a concept title from his birth. We are always looking for new ways of playing with him, manipulating him, to create something new and unique. We're in the midst of preparing something special for his future, something never before seen. You'll understand when you see it that we can't quite release it right away. The new Mario game will surprise many people. Give us the benefit of the doubt. I think we'll present you with a new way to have fun. There's even a new character by his side.
Mario 128 will be released for Revolution then?
Yes, of course! It's no surprise, but of course we will rename it, obviously. That won't be the only surprise of next year though. We based the Revolution around this new type of game. Mario 128 played a large role in the Revolution's conception, much like Mario 64 in it's time. But we won't just be focusing on Mario. We're working on some very impressive games which push interactivity to the max. Games of a new era.
The new Zelda, it's not really good news that...
Please allow me to interrupt you by saying that you will have to be patient, really. This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form. I worked on it personally, moreso than Wind Waker! I haven't invested as much into any game as I have this one. Our goal was to make the best Zelda game ever. The most rich/satisfying and melancholy. We've really improved it in just a few months. Everything's coming together much quicker. We may have some last minute ideas...
You're going to move it to Revolution?
No, it is a Gamecube title.
In any case, you want to preserve the air of mystery around Nintendo?
We will be revealing many details soon. It's true, we do like surprises (laughs). While our gamers are sleeping, we're busy thinking up new ideas. But while they're playing - we're playing as well.

Forgot this bit...
Host: What do you see for the future of video games in 20 years?
Miyamoto: Retro gaming (laughs). Consoles will reach a barrier in the next generation, in a few months. The future might be games with multiple possibilities and unlimited data via the Internet. If we don't limit the number of gigabytes of a game, using the Internet which has no theoretical limit, why not imagine a virtual universe where all players sould cross paths? Games are still young compared to cinema. But revolutions only happen every 20 years I suppose! (laughs again)
Sorry, but this interview is fake.

Sorry, but this interview is fake."
Oh my gosh. Theres no news without someone yelling "FAKEEEEE!!!11".
I mean really.
Ah, this is a much better translation than the one in the comments of the previous post... ^^
This interview appeared on a french website dedicated to Nintendo (www.p-nintendo.com) which is not realiable at 100% because it has published a year (or two, can't remember) a fake radio interview of Miyamoto. But who knwos ?
Yeah, I have a feeling it (the Rev) is going to be revealed on the 16th. *sits and waits*
Why is the countdown from http://revolutionday.com/ different to the countdown on this side? which is correct for Iwatas speech?
I have heard a number of people claiming the niterview is fake. I will edit the post as soon as I have evidence either way.
As to the countdown, the other one is correct. The one in my header is copied from Gamespot and is a countdown to the actual opening of the TGS, so it´s one day ahead. Sorry. As soon as I understand that HTML, I´ll correct that mistake.
Have corrected the countdown. It should be pretty exact now.
Anonym again: (the one who complaint about the countdown^^) the countdown is still 1 hour different from the other one!
Those don't seem like things Miyamoto would say, it seemed too energetic. I don't know, but whenever I see his interviews he seems more relaxed. Just my opinion. That thing about Zelda is interesting, if it is real, though...
Nintendo's going to have an absurd launch. I can just feel it.
Nintendo will kick so much ass. haha yes. nintendo=great
IGN says it's fake.
Can´t find an IGN statement on the interview. Miyamoto´s tone is not that unusual, though. Just reread the last interview, where he boldly said that the idea of the Revolution is that it will ´sell, sell and sell to become the industry standard´. That was already unusually bold.
About my countdown: Yes, mine is still one hour off. Sorry, I can´t seem to correct that. I´m just no HTML wiz... sorry.
"where he boldly said that the idea of the Revolution is that it will ´sell, sell and sell to become the industry standard"
I thought Iwata said that.
You are absolutely right. I mixed that up in my post and wrongly attributed that quote to Miyamoto. When I interviewed him at E3 though, he also seemed unusually confident. So there has been a change in tone regarding Shiggy as well.
Shigsy + Reggie + Iwata = UNSTOPPABLE
lets hope so
Yeah, I guess there is no denying a change in the enthusiasm regarding the Revolution from those guys. I mean, they are saying it will be on par with the PS3 and 360 with power, when at E3 they were saying power doesn't matter.. All it does it make me want it more :D
well of course...if nintendo payed attention they would relize that power does matter it just has to be balanced with somthing new and innovative, and if we look to the past nintendo never has delivered an inferior consol
For the sake of clarity:
This interview originates from French Nintendo website Puissance-Nintendo. The author of the transcript, going by the name of Frederic, says the interview was conducted on a lesser known local radio station of Northern Kyoto called "Tahako Kyoto". Supposedly Miyamoto has a friend working there hence him chiming in once in a while -Frederic claims he has done so thrice in two years time.
There's no way to prove any of it, but people noticed no one on the popular Japanese BBS 2channel ever mentionned these interviews. Adding to the confusion is the fact several people remember the very same Frederic having admittedly faked a previous "exclusive" Miyamoto interview on the very same website.
To all of this the webmaster's sole reply is something along the lines of "we don't know if any of it is true but we didn't want to keep potential information away from our readers".
"they are saying it will be on par with the PS3 and 360 with power"
When did they say this ?
Hi falafel-Andi.
Ich würd gerne wissen, ob es einen Bericht auf RTL2 von der Tokyo Game Show und der wahrscheinlichen Revolution-Enthüllung geben wird.
Hey, SeriousGamer's blog is down.
Hey Falafelkid, could you add my blog to your list?
n-gamers.blogspot.com
thanks
Hi Darkenedjib. Sure. Great effort, great blog!
Hi Drum Eagle. We will definitely report about the Revolution unveiling. I just cannot say when. We decide the running order of the program on the day. We are a news program, after all. I would try and watch around the 13th and the 16th, though.
wow thanks!!!
