But then again, as I explained, the XBL Arcade and PSN games have been taking up the library, which is why the 360 and PS3 seem to be getting titles faster. Most of them are good and easy to make.

The Wii is a testament that Nintendo is really making strides to repair that because I see alot of games that I normally don't see on the N64 and the GameCube.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13336739.post-66129801227921205762009-01-01T23:12:00.000+01:002009-01-01T23:12:00.000+01:00DONT BLAME THE """VICTIM"""!!! For example, if a game got an A, the relative score would be a 100, but if a game got an F, it would be 0. One game got a B, but it got a 67, which is an equivalent of a D.

You can check it out here.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2008/jan/17/interviewtheartofmetacriti

Not to mention, if you take a look closer, there are alot of XBL Arcade and PSN games that are included in along with full games, inflating the amount of titles above the 87 average. I don't think alot of gamers can even put downloadable gmaes in the same light as full tangbile ones at the moment.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13336739.post-6756058136662733992009-01-01T19:58:00.000+01:002009-01-01T19:58:00.000+01:00Andreas, bitte schreib' mich mal an. The 2009 3rd party line ...Happy new year everybody!

The 2009 3rd party line up is the best line up in ages imo. Lots of promising stuff on the horizon - Wii is a massive success despite two somewhat lackluster years for traditional gamers!

I can't wait for games like Endless Ocean 2, Tenchu 4, Fatal Frame 4, Red Steel 2, Fragile, Mad World, MH3, DQ10 and The Conduit(which is said to be undergoing massive design refinements as we speak)

Also, as I have previously mentioned, Okami is really massive. It took me 60 hours to complete(with side quests )!Highly recommended! It's my favourite game so far on Wii alongside Galaxy and Dewy!

I bought Godfather Wii last week btw(never played it before) and I come away quite impressed by it's attention to detail, Wii optimized controls, atmosphere and sheer scope after my first lil session
(despite its rather ps2ish gfx I should add)

Oh and btw I'm starting to become suspicious that major german mall chains are boycotting mature content for Wii in order to market the system as a kids toy!

Seriously, recently I was shopping in a german mall called "Kaufhof Galeria". I usually don't go there to buy games but they have games too. So I thought I would check what they have in store. Strangely enough, when I got there the Wii section was nowhere to be found in their PC/console department. Instead, there were somehow only PC/PS3 and Xbox 360 games. And when I asked the Galeria staff -lo and behold- they pointed me to the toys section on the other side of the room LOL! So I thought whatever you know;-) and went over to the toy section where I eventually found Wii(and ds)in a glass shelve somewhere in the middle of nowhere( inbetween shelves full of lil plastic figures, matchbox cars, playmobil, lego, teddys and barbies!)

Okay anway, so there I was, standing in the middle of lil kiddy toy land surrounded by mumys with buggies looking for christmas presents for their kids in front of a slim, inconspicious glass shelve where the system itself and a handful of the kiddiest kids games that Wii has to offer were trapped inside(with Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games being the most mature hardcore title of the bunch) looking for The Godfather lol.;-)

Oh the irony. I guess I should consider making a short film or comic about this hilarious incident and send it to all 3rd party publishers who are quick to jump to conclusions and blame the Wii audience when their Wii games don't sell....

I also recall confronting a Saturn employee(another major german chain)a year or so ago concerning the sheer absence of any notable mature Wii titles except for Red Steel(I think I was looking for the newly released Scarface game for Wii back then) which instantly left me perplexed and somewhat disgruntled. 95% of the Wii games on shelve at Saturn were kids games and minigame collections I weren't interested in at all. Nothing else really other than the usual suspects like Zelda and Exite Truck.

So I asked this guy why there weren't any mature games on the shelves for Wii and listed some games like Scarface, Driver 3, Godfather, Resident Evil etc.,... and his awnser was basically that Wii is targeted at families and kids mainly whereas PS3 /360 is marketed at different audiences like teens and young adults. And that would be the reason why they don't offer these titles for Wii eventhough they do exist. He then went on and advised me to get a 360 or a PS3 to play those games.

I don't know whether this is a world wide phenomenon but if all chains handle their Wii business like these two major german ones seem to do, it sure is pretty telling and might explain why mature games don't sell well.

IALSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
