X06 Update #2

Good morning, people. This is the second day of X06 and I am sitting in an early session with Peter Jackson, Peter Molyneux and the head of Irrational Games. They are exploring how storyline will feature in future games, obviously with some reference to Peter Jackson's upcoming Halo projects, Fable 2 and Bioshock. They are also talking episodic content. But it's all very general at the moment. I hope to be able to snag a brief one-to-one with Peter Jackson later. More on this and some of the games shown at X06 soon.

I'm just floored to hear of Peter Jackson throwing in with Microsoft. I'll tall you, this Nintendo Fanboi wakes up every day in utter fear of Microsoft winning the console war. They're just so aggressive and they're making so many competent decisions and appealing so much to a the traditional hardcore base...

hold me...I'm scared...

Oh, I'm eager to find out what Jackson wants to do with narrative in videogames. If I want to make games later in life, this would be an uber topic to keep up to date on.

Peter Jackson working with MS... Stephen Spielburg in cahoots with EA. At least the movie industry is recognizing the value of video game to the entertainment industry. Hopefully this will translate to better storytelling elements in games.

Oh and carmine, you might not want to post your email address on a comments thread like this. Broadcasting your email address on the web is a good way to make yourself the target of all sorts of spam and email-bourne viruses. Just a thought.

Do we know anything about Peter Jackson's Halo project?

No, but we know what it is not. It is not Halo 3 or the upcoming Halo RTS game, my guess is that it will be a game based on the movie (also Produced by Peter Jackson).

On another note:

Has anyone heard the rumor that Wal-Mart will not carry Wii demo units due to safety reasons? A few sites have posted this information but none seem to be able to confirm it.
