The final word

I am going to be on holiday this week - just when the Revolution will be presented. Talk about perfect timing, eh? Anyway, I´m leaving the day after tomorrow - and no, it´s not to Tokyo, if you are asking - so I guess this will be the final word before the Revolution will be revealed, most likely during Iwata´s speech before the TGS. This is why I want to use this post to summarize all key points we have been discussing here during the last three and a half months. As it´s a summary, I won´t back up everything I write or link to sites. You can find all the details in the relevant posts below. I will also finally abandon all fine journalistic tradition and plainly state my opinion and pure belief in this piece. It´s just a few days until we all get to see who was right, so I might as well ;P

THE EVIDENCE

* The console stand: It´s slanted, which must be more than a mere design feature, because it makes the console more likely to be knocked over. In my mind, this would suggest that the console is ´pointing up´ at the player. This would in turn suggest some kind of direct interaction, more specifically a data exchange, between console and controller, e.g. some kind of projection method.

* The size: The console will be tiny. This could point towards the plain hardware being not much more powerful than the GameCube. If so, the method of viewing could be the revolutionary ingredient. In fact, there has been a reliable source stating recently that a portable GameCube was at least considered by Nintendo a few years back. The Revolution could be that. At the size of three DVD cases stacked, it will be a fairly portable device anyway. And given some kind of 3D projection, even a portable Revolution would still compete with the other home consoles.

* The GCN controller ports: This is one of the weirdest details about the Revolution. The console would only need the old controller if the new controller was something completely different. Either you can only use the new controller only with some games, or the new controller utilizes a technology that some people might want to get a rest from.

* Nintendo quotes: There will be fewer buttons, games will be cheaper and easier to develop. Again, this would suggest less hardware power and some kind of new input technology.

DEVELOPER´S QUOTES

* "Nintendo is waking up."

* "You will be very pleasantly surprised."

* "Never underestimate Nintendo."

THE HYPE

* Nintendo ON: I will finally come out and admit that I have never been convinced that the Nintendo ON clip was fake after all. My interview with Pablo threw up more questions than it answered, the same must be said about the 1up feature. The clip was just too well produced to have been done by one guy in a week. And even if it was done in a week, why did the otherwise excellent clip end so amateurishly? Why does the ON logo resemble a logo Nintendo trademarked in the late eighties and renewed since then? I believe that it´s likely that Nintendo was somehow involved in the clip. I don´t think the ON helmet is a final product - or was ever intended to be one. For that, its looks are just too far off from the console. But I do think this was meant to be an indicator of what the Rev would deliver. It was meant to generate hype and it worked a treat.

* Adverts: All fake.

* Seriousgamer007: Completely fake. No affiliation to anything. Not even to puberty, I guess.

* Pictures of the console in people´s living rooms: All fake. Iwata most likely won´t even show a working prototype during his speech. Games will most likely be running off a dev kit.

POSSIBLE TECHNOLOGIES

* Pressure-sensitive pads: An interesting idea, but nothing huge. Also, there was no conrete evidence fo this technology. I don´t think so.

* Gyroscopes: I treat this technology as a given. Nintendo´s deal with Gyration, Inc. is a pretty good indicator here, though the full amount of involvement has not been disclosed.

* Heat pads: A nice idea, but nothing revolutionary. Again, no concrete evidence.

* Haptics: A patent found in early July suggests haptic feedback. But believing in gyroscopes makes me think that haptics would just be too much. Nintendo cannot include everything. The standard controller can cost no more than $40, I guess.

* Augmented Reality (AR): A real possibility in my opinion. And contrary to popular opinion, this technology is not too expensive to be implemented. While prototypes cost up to $10.000, low-level implementation for the mass-market could cost well below $100 per controller.

* Virtual Reality / Stereoscopic 3D projection: This technology is similar to AR. So the above point about costs is equally valid with regard to this technology. There is no cooperation between Nintendo and eMagin, but there may very well be a cooperation with P.O.C. I rate stereoscopic 3D a likely contender. It´s revolutionary, it allows for gaming with fewer buttons and need not put off newcomers, depending on the implementation.

* Neural input / Brainwave controller: The mood sensor, as developed by Neurosky is a possibility and could be quite fun: Relax before you cross a narrow bridge. Stuff like that. If you are thinking of actually steering objects with your thoughts, I must disappoint you. There is no way this could be implemented in a competitive videogame console.

CONTROLLER MOCK-UPS

From all controller mock-ups that have been floated on the net, not a single one convinced me. The most likely contender is the one pictured below, though I strongly believe the Cyrillic writing gives this away as a fake, too. It is the only controller we saw that actually fits the console, though, as well as Nintendo´s hints about fewer buttons and the like.

CONCLUSION

Finally, I expect a gyroscopic controller but I also strongly believe in the possibility of some kind of projection method as an optional extra, most likely stereoscopic 3D projection. In particular, I don´t think that goggles would be Nintendo´s weapon of choice. I think that there will be some kind of plate of glass the visuals will appear on, either integrated into the controller or, more likely, the console itself. Haptics, mood sensors, heat or pressure-sensitive pads are all a possibility, but the basic controller can only feature a maximum of two of these. I vote for gyroscopes. Haptics are the second most likely option, I guess.

I expect the release date will be later than some rumours have made us believe. Dev kits went out in June or July. Some developers were still not in the know until August. I know this for a fact. Hence, I don´t see any way the Revolution could launch before autumn 2006. Most likely we are looking at a release between August and December. I expect the console to be priced at $299 because the actual hardware will not need to be very powerful by comparison (given that there will be some kind of 3D projection). An additional stereoscopic projection system would be around $100. It´s certainly a possibility. Now let´s wait and see if I´m right.

to me the controller in the way King Dea described it sounds the most plausible.. Gyro, pressure, heat and trackball instead of z-stick. You can use older gamecube controllers for those games that require a z-stick and for 100% backward comp. with the GC.

But we'll see in a week...

I couldn't agree more with you.

Happy Vacationing

Hi everyone. To Anonym: okay, but would that be revolutionary? Every single feature would be nothing big. In total they would make for a cool controller nevertheless. But I don´t believe in these patchwork solutions. Nintendo will opt for a maximum of two such technologies I expect, one of them being something more out of the ordinary. All these little things would probably make each controller too expensive as well. You want to mass-produce as few of those components as possible to get the price down.

At Mr. Nintendo: Hi. Personally, I don´t think IGN know more than anyone else. True, they knew what the Rev looked like before the unveiling. But I don´t think they saw the controller yet - or know what it is. I think far less people are in the know than most people think. Even EA stated recently (as in a couple of weeks ago) that they didn´t know what Nintendo had on their plate. So IGN wouldn´t have known either. First you tell developers, then the press. That´s what I think.

Oh, and thanks for your comments. Hope you forgive me for going out on a limb with this post. I just got the itch to tell you all what I think, apart from what I know. Because we´ll find out soon anyway.

Nobody said that there will be fewer buttons!!
Itawa (or was it Myamoto?) just said, that he thinks that today's controllers are too complicated and when a non-gamer sees a controller he thinks "Oh! So many buttons, so many sticks, this is too complicated!".
That's it! Nobody said that there will be fewer buttons!

Anonymous said...

Well, I'll make a guess too. I think Nintendo has developed a really fast wi-fi technology, so they can send real time content wirelessly a controller with some kind of oled screen.

Someone from Square-Enix already told that Nintendo was blurring the line between consoles and portables with Revolution.

Now imagine a portable console, with batteries, that you could put on your backpack and share a game with some friends with theirs revo controllers. And that stand could be a docking station too, so you can easily connect the Revolution in your home rig.

Like the DS it would not be that revolutionary, but it would surely change the paradigm, and the way we play video-games.

That's my bet, maybe with gyro's on the mix, but let's see.

PS: Those are not my ideas. It's just a collage of ideas I've found on the net.

Falafelkid,

I'm poster #2, the anon one. While none of these functions are revolutionary "an sich" (although not done before) - if implemented well it could provide gamers with a revolutionary game experience. Didn't Miyamoto say something about how great it would be to grab the master sword yourself? And the heat/cold thing is less expensive than you might think - and it would give an original experience.

Personally I think the projector/visor/whatever idea is too far fetched. I'm willing to believe that nintendo is doing heavy research on that field, maybe for the follow up to the game boy (remember the "ds is not gameboy followup" comments from nintendo) in a way to release something like that post 2006 that could re-invent portable gaming (once again) and make for an excellent peripheral for the revolution - but at this moment I doubt it.

I'm more inclined to believe that the revolution comes from the experience:
Controller: has gyro for better camera movement, pressure for whoknowswhat, heat for a closer involvement with the game, and trackball for better RTS/FPS controls.

Another revolutionary part comes from the dev software and architecture - people who could create snes games, or N64 games but who have more problem with todays tech could be able to develop games for this platform - it would provide to be easier for 2D gaming for example etc - also not going multicore will mean lower development costs and easier ports. I think they will have a lower spec CPU, but a slightly better videochip.

Also, the revolution can play 5 generations of games (nes, snes, n64, gamecube, revolution) so the controller should be able to handle all of those as well.

Another extra would be the revolutions interaction with the DS - being able to download NES and SNES games to your DS, plus using the revolution as a "server" for game demos on the DS. I think nintendo will make even more use of the DS - REVO combination then it ever did with the advance - gamecube combo.

So is this all the big revolution? I don't know - but it sure would be leaps ahead of the competition in a whole, although each and every one of these things are easy to do and use simple and current technology (something nintendo almost always did in the past - up until and including the DS) - and that might be what makes their console the most revolutionary of the bunch.

Or put otherwise: i don't have a clue : )

Anonymous said...

Thank you sir, you have provided us with a most excellent collective of rumours and news sources for the pre-Revolution months. i, and probably most people here salute you on such a wonderful site.

i wait with patience, just over 2 days left is it? i'll be up all night just reading the drippings of echoed whispers from TGS.

Anonymous said...

What if it won't?

The whole revealing is so far just a rumor. Until recently we were all joking that Nintendo wouldn't release Twilight Princess at the 360 launch because it would make too much sense (It wouldn't I know, the game needs the extra time!). Wouldn't it make too much sense as well to reveal the controller?

I'm just scared, because it's been such a good week so far for me. It would be awesoome to end it with a new console that happens to be revolutionary.

Of course, I doub't Iwata needs 50 minutes to talk about some little aspect of gaming or his future visions. 50 minutes are all he needs to reveal the NR.

Two high intensity bright screens, integrated wireless, audio, on-board CPU for decompression, 3D graphics capability, battery life for 8-10 hours of play, and lightweight. Integrated gyroscopes that tilt the world as things are re-oriented.

Have I described the DS or a ***Visor***?

(A DS, with Gameboy Micro screens, and a Yoshi Topsy-Turvy cart installed)

Try putting the DS on your head. It's light and has good battery life.

The DS, and the Gameboy Micro, seem to me to be a hint that a "visor" is a possibility. It could handle some portion of the graphics processing in the game. A DS is not expensive.

I'm not sure people are ready for the visor, but I am. There's just something amazing about 3D stereoscopic images (e.g. from Magic Eye books) that look fantastic.

Oh -- and couple that with the force feedback mentioned in the article linked below -- this equals a total count of 2, agreeing with falafelkid's idea that they might only use 2 features.

I just want to say something about falafel's response about Dea's concept of the controller. Think about the DS. Tell me one DS feature that is innovative in genera. Touchscreen - Palms. Mic - cellphones. Dual Screen - Game and Watch. It's the combination of all the features in a gaming experience that make the DS innovative.

I think, if King Dea is for real, that his version of the controller is the most accurate of all. Heck, I wouldn't even call it a mock up. I repeat, if he's for real.

Falafelkid, have a great vacation and may you return safe and well. I just have a question. You won't be there when Iwata delivers his speech? You won't even follow it online?

I don't really agree with you on most of that, but you have done an AMAZING job on this blog, and are certainly entitled to your opinion (which is more knowledgable than almost everyone else's). Have a fun and happy life.

It says at spong that the gamecube contoller is going to be the main controller and the revo controller is going to be the optional controller, that pisses me off lets hope its not true

thats true graphics are the #1 thing that attract gamers, becuase most ppl do judge books by thier cover

Anonymous said...

You will need the gc controller ports for your donkey konga sessions or just to plug in you logitech wheel which you purchased for the ngc.
Also I think that VR stuff is just too far away, it's like someone said before, Nintendo wants to get the people who usually don't touch consoles etc because they think its too complicated.. but if those people see a VR device or something like that.. at least I'm sure my girlfriend would never touch that.

I think the Revolution will be a biiig letdown for many people who read forums and blogs etc because o fall the hype around it. No matter what Nintendo comes up with, I'm sure the dissappointment and trolling will thrive in the forums.

I'm expecting a good online system for the Rev, with a steam like service to re-download already purchased games and for example coupons to download the old Mario games when you buy Mario Revolution. I also hope very much that the pricing for downloading old games will be good.. not 10 Euro for a N64 and 5 Euro for a NES game or shit like that.
Graphical wise I don't expect much more than the short Metroid trailer from E3. No fotorealistic graphics etc, I got no believe in all the cube mapping "specialists" on the boards who claim this would produce ps3 killer graphics for low cost.

What remains is the controller.. I just hope that it won't be only oLEDs which will display the different buttons of the different consoles or for example in Zelda a boomerang symbol at the top button etc. + some gyro stuff.
I hope it's gyro + that new force feedback stuff which was rumored a while ago + a trackball as th c-stick + something really clever which no one has thought of so far + some vmu kind of thing. :)
Maybe friday will be the day that all is going to be revealed.. I don't know. Of course there will be hate everywhere after the announcement but nontheless it was fun speculating and read about all that kind of ideas, as well as it was fun to read this blog which always was the only blog I added to my favourites. So have a nice vacation and don't forget to update this site when u're back! :)

Hey I was trying to contact Falafelkid, but could not find an email so I thought I would just post it here. I just recently headed over to ign cube to see if there were any updates. The main article on the page was about the Revolution FAQ with a subtitle indicating that there were updates. I looked and the only thing I could find that I did not remember reading before was this.

Further, Revolution's controller will very likely make use of motion-sensing technology. Leaked documentation shows that players may be able to twist and turn the device in order to twist and turn objects and characters in Revolution games. Nintendo has dabbled in this type of technology in the handheld sector with such games as Kirby Tilt 'N Tumble.

I did not see any articles about this new "leaked documenation" nor do I remember ever seeing anything about it. I just thought Falafelkid might know what documentation they are refering too. This can be found on page 2 of ign's Revolution FAQ.

Anonymous said...

Check you ign now, they have updated with a TGS faq, saying that Iwata will indeed talk about revolution, and talk about the controller, but whether he will show the controller is still unknown.

Anonymous said...

Matt also said theres a good chance we won't see any Revolution games at the keynote either.

Anonymous said...

There is one good reason that Nintendo is NOT producing a helmet or any VR stereoscopic 3D...

The are aiming at casual gamers of all ages. They also love social gaming.

Due to a VERY common disability i am unable to use stereoscopic visors. So are young kids and many older people. So using one cuts their player base a lot.

Then, we get onto social gaming, there is no way that a visor would be very affordable, so its unlikely many people could play multiplayer. Also social gaming comes from watching people play too. How can you watch people play when they are using a visor? You cant. Thats why i know the rev has nothing to do with stereoscopic vision.

On the other hand it MAY be a VR style glove (eg with gyro and feedback)that allows you to hold item in a game, and touch items in a game. This would truly totally revolutionize games, but would also mark a huge step in technology, which means its unlikely. But still possible.

Also keep in mind that no matter what the new controller is, this console has to run old games, so the hardware will be nothing unique. it will be a normal games console inside, but the way you interact with some games will be new.

I have no idea what the rev controller will be, but since the beginning ive been 100% sure it will contain a gyro.

I was also keen on AR, but you must understand that AR relies on 'placeholder' physical objects, as well as objects ontop of the placeholder. This limits the size of the playing area and also requires you to have physical things in your home. This is not going to happen. look at japan as a rule, consoles cannot be big, they cannot clutter everything up. having your little mario play in your one room apartment, where you can only fit a 1foot placeholder is no fun at all!

So this has nothing to do with stereoscopic vision ( virtual boy also helps this argument) and it has nothing to do with AR. Take my word for this, if Nintendo do use these two methods, then they are going down the toilet fast.

I have much deeper theories on what the re is, and i can rule out an awful lot that has been talked about, but i doubt people want to hear me out.

Anyway, good work on the blog, it was fun reading.

I've been following your blog since E3. Its great to finally hear your Revolution predictions. I would like to add my own theories into the mix.

First, I believe the Rev will definitely be portable in one way or another. Yoichi Wada:

"The Revolution may embody a new platform beyond a portable or console"

The words "portable" and "console" both refer to portability, they're just on opposite sides of the spectrum. The Rev will be a hybrid of portable and console. This suggests that the Rev will necessarily need an alternative display device. What that is, I have no clue.

I also believe that the controller and the interface will be separate things. I think the Rev console will have a camera, hiding behind the front flap, that can track user movement to a limited extent. Don't think EyeToy, think GameTrack. That is, left hand on the controller, right hand for object manipulation. This would explain why the Rev is tilted back (for the camera) and would also explain the "DS like" comment. Might also explain the Manebito camera that Nintendo was working on:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/09/news_6100299.html

As to the controller itself, I guess it could be anything.

Well...this is the end of an era. I will miss all the speculation. It really has been fun. Your site has been a staple of my online life for months...thank you falafelkid! I hope you continue to post after all of this is over, you have a lot of fans out there. Cheers.

I stumbled upon something quite interesting on another board, if this turns out to be the real deal:

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/9396/25338415os.jpg

It's believed to show the menu system in Nintendo Revolution, and I must say I really really like it.. hopefully it's true, but I can't help but be a bit doubtful at this point. In some ways this resembles the familiar Nintendo style, but somehow not quite.. hmmm:/ Then again, I would've never expected Nintendo's console to look the way Revolution did when they unveiled it, so who knows.. anyway, make of it what you will. Personally I can't wait till TGS.

NINTENDO! We need more info, NOW!!!

If that is real than look at the bottom of the display... it has a little black controller... we cant see it all, but it kinda looks like the Xbox controler (xbox, not 360)...

But i doubt it is real, as the man-background border line seems wierd... indicating that photoshop may be at bay. oh, and everything on the background is blurred (motion blur) and it may be because of the lighting, but the man seems far less blurred

Groan...

I thought we burried this a long time ago.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, upon closer inspection the picture has some flaws. Also "nintendo 2005" isn't very likely to appear on it - it should mention 2006, no?

Anonymous said...

The picture looks like a real photo of a real projection. Look at the light switch for confirmation that it is all blurry. The blur also lends to the idea of a quick sneaky photo being taken in a dark room.

I think Nintendo 2005 is the publishing date of the game featured on the page. So it makes sense for a demo.

The time seems a little unlikely.. 14:24 PM?? Nintendo dont normally make such basic errors in their demos.

Over all that screen makes sense for the revo menu. Who would take the time to design that, such a mundane thing, project it, pose and photograph it?

And lets hope to god the revo controller does not look like the shape on the pic. argh!

falafelkid - great blog, thx for having the masses wait with you :)

Wow...just wow!!!!!

I know a lot of people are worried about the difficulty of porting traditional console games to the Rev. But with the "pointer's" mouse like features, I expect it will be very easy for PC games to be ported to the Rev. Neither Microsoft nor Sony will be able to do this. And don't forget, the GC ports are always there just in case. Looking at it this way, perhaps there will be more developers making games for the Rev than any other console.

The two handed controller was one of the first controller theories that I completely fell in love with, and it has now become a reality. This is a bold move by Nintendo. After the shock wares off, I think it will become obvious to the public that the pointer is truly a masterpeice. It's innovative, ingenious, and after giving it some hours to sink in, I don't think I would want the controller any other way.

Viva la Revolution!

Anonymous said...

Hard to imagine what`s possible.

I hope this concept fits in complex games.

It`s realy revolutionary!!!

Anonymous said...

I realize that if one night should go without rumor and speculation...it should be tonight. But I just have to say it:

Why weren't any games shown? I believe it was Miyamoto who said that they wanted to show off the controller and the games as a package.

Logically, you might think Nintendo hasn't revealed the games for strategic reasons...that is, to counter the XBox 360 release, or perhaps steal the show at E3 2006, etc.

However, since Nintendo has already played the 'controller card,' why would Nintendo withold in-game pics for months and months only later to release a system with sub-par graphics? It simply doesn't make sense.

Which leads to only three conclusions:

(1) Revolution's graphics are on par or superior to Xbox360's graphics.

(2) There is a visor or some other alternative display device to later be revealed as an attachment.

(3) There are still more revolutionary aspects of the system that haven't been disclosed as of yet.

You can argue that Nintendo hasn't always made the smartest moves, but barring that scenario, I believe there is still another piece of the puzzle missing. Having said that, I'm very excited about the controller and will be quite giddy without more revolutions.

Anonymous said...

I'm certainly impressed and surprised at the same time.

I've been thinking up possibilities for this in the last ten minutes, that truly excite me, so I'm sure nintendo has done the same...

Anonymous said...

The controller is just damn awesome. I'm loving it right now. Just had some ideas that I haven't heard people say much about yet:

Miyamoto, in his radio interview, talked about pushing interactivity to the max. With the new controller, it would be very easy to make a world where objects can picked up, examined, thrown, etc. That is, the world could be endlessly interactive, limited only by processing power. Think of something like Shenmue for instance. Any and every object could be manipulated. How would this work? Simple, the controller would be your virtual hand. For example:

Left hand: analog stick for character movement.

Right hand: remote control "pointer" as virtual hand.

When you pass your hand over an object that can be manipulated, just as in RE4 and many other games, the A button will be context sensitive. For example, A button to pick up object, A button to flip switch, A button to turn door knob, etc. Once in hand, it will be as if the controller is the object. That is, any movements you make with the controller will be replicated on screen by the object. Really, the possibilites are endless. While the controller may be somewhat limited in certain genres, by and large, this thing is extremely versatile, and is very likely to generate many more genres, and even genre-less games, that it just simply won't matter.

Man, I'm psyched. I can't believe this thing. As more time goes by, people will begin to see the wonders of this controller, and it will take the industry by storm. Congratulations Nintendo!

Anonymous said...

hahahahaah...you really took me by surprise, Nintendo!

a remote? lol :)

I expected, or more like - strongly wanted it to be more like what Ninja from this forum posted below:

www.nordichardware.com/forum
/this-forum-is-lucky-vt2584.html

indeed it looked very alike the officall one, although I had opped for a touch sensetive tablet much like this one:

Note: its a demo in quicktime

http://tactiva.com
/tactadrawmovielarge.html

neverless, I was not that dissapointed, eventhough I had hope that the "Revolution" part would include addtional moving sencors much like the ones used, in shame and all, those of motion capture's currently regulary used by the production professinals in movie and the game industry. but only to be attached to to both arms and legs.

I had also hoped that along with these things (if its even possible)that game players would "feel" a force, gravity, when playing, ehem... Kid Icarus. He/she would feel it between lifting the bow and aim. (feeling the weight of the bow when taking an attack position). when drawing the string, he/she would also feel the the distance/force feedback between the shaft (the Rev remote?) and the string, the extra control device, yet to surface - along with many like it.

And along with many other. I thought a possitvly 3d projection to be seen. either as a bundle to the Rev or as a uppgrade within 2-3 years from now. In my opinion. I think a better realism of interactivity if you can see/play game from a 3rd person perspective like in some strategy role playing game such as Orge Battle and Zelda, or simple put, when playing a character from disstance.
Here you would see and feel the enviroment and yet easily navigate.

well well...let see what the truly Big N have in for us next October. :D

//M

Anonymous said...

...and think what that kind of interactivity will bring if you can feel when you swing the leather whip to grap a something on the roof to take you to another place, in Castlevania!

ok read this:

Jim Merrick = Senior Director of Marketing Nintendo Europe

Interview

Eurogamer.net :
Is what we saw today (controller) the finished product, then?

Jim Merrick:
It's very nearly finished. We've got time to make a few refinements, but fundamentally it's complete.

Eurogamer.net :
How come you didn't show off any games today?

Jim Merrick:
We went to great pains not to show the software today because we didn't want to detract from what we are trying to show. We're talking about a fundamental change to how we see games and how we play games, and we didn't want to get hung up on polygon counts and so on.

Our official launch date is still 2006, and before we show the software, we want to make sure it's at a stage where you can understand exactly how it's going to work with the freehand-style controller - by actually playing the games.

--

hmmm...it looks like we might be able to used the "Remote controller" for the new Zelda! (??)

How come?

1. They delay Zelda?

2. Why I think it is? Well, if we just skipp the business strategy part for amoment. Would it be tacticly ideal to have us, the game players to learn how to use the "Remote", then be comfortable enough to take on the Revolution.

Of course It might not be possible in business strategy point of view. ^^*

But it would be cool to have that thingy in hand when the last Zelda on GC arrives!

Btw, didn't they mentioned about Rev being used along with a monitor?

Monitor? A pc LCD/CRT monitor? Or a 3D projection monitor? :D~

hehe...that would be something!

I forgot to paste this importan part of the interview:

Eurogamer:
Is the freehand-style controller your trump card, or have we got more exciting stuff to look forward to?

Jim Merrick:
Let's just say we have more surprises in store.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~ !!!

Anonymous said...

Nintendo not showing us game footage so that we don't "get hung up on polygon counts and so on," could just mean that the revolution may not be on par with the xbox 360 and that they dont want people to pay more attention to that than the new way of gaming couldnt it?

Or i guess it could be that the graphics arent polished enough for them to make a good 1st impression, im hoping for this to be the real reason...

Anonymous said...

and did anyone notice how the ign mock up shell looks alot like that blurred controller taht was posted on this blog down near the bottom?

seriousgamer's posts are not mature sounding, his claims don't even all fit together, he himself confesses he doesn't know shit over and over again, and yet he still tries to convince people that he is an insider.

Im not gona email SG007 flaming him, im gona sit here and laugh at all posts he makes, he says hes not gona post anything until nintendo takes care of thier nxt big secret, he acts like he knows what the nxt big thing is

This guy has no life

look at these how cool would these attactments be?????!?!?

http://www.freewebs.com/mut56/revowheel.jpg

http://www.freewebs.com/mut56/revogun.jpg

this just makes me think of all the possibilities, im finally startign to love this controller

and if u tihnk attactments would be too expensive, think about it since nintendo revoultion games r supposed ot be less expensive to create, that means they sell for less, whihc means the game+the addon might be less than the game on a different console
