Overactive eMagination?

I must admit that I have found no real news to post. There is one thing that bugs me, though: this whole eMagin connection. Some guy on the Nintendo forums claimed Seriousgamer007 sent him a message with the phone number of some person called Bruce, who had apparently just had a meeting with Nintendo regarding stereoscopic technology.

I have spoken to the company´s communications director Joe Runde. He assured me there was no cooperation between eMagin and Nintendo, or any console manufacturer for that matter. He even doubted this technology could be implemented in the price range dictated by this market (in contrast to what Rick Shie of POC was telling me some time ago).

But even if that meeting did not concern any concrete plans, what´s still bugging me is this: How could Seriousgamer007 have known about that meeting in the first place? Don´t get me wrong, I´m convinced he doesn´t work for Nintendo. In fact, this is proof that he doesn´t. If Nintendo went around dishing out people´s phone numbers at partner cmopanies so they talk about classified stuff while being recorded so the whole internet can listen in, they would soon not have many business partners left. But it´s still intriguing to ask how he could have found out. I have no idea. But maybe the infamous Bruce will tell me. When I phoned Bruce up last week, he asked me for my understanding that he couldn´t comment on anything. But he was surprised to find out someone had taped that conversation. In return for sending him the link to Seriousgamer´s blog, I asked if he could keep me updated on his reply. So we might find out who this guy really is - and where he got this info from.

In fact, I will even meet Joe Runde in person. He´s going to the Games Convention, too. And he will show me the Z800 3D visor they just put out. And, of course, I will ask him whether he had any info on this mysterious leak. Finally, I just want to reiterate: there will be no info on the Revolution. Just so you won´t be disappointed. My guess is that Nintendo will unveil the controller at the TGS keynote speech or at the Nintendo World Store.

Well, they will try to take the whole momentum out of the Xbox360 launch. So TGS would be perfect timing, wouldn´t it?

They said they'd show everything by the end of the year, and they will do that. They would lose a lot of potential support, otherwise.

Where can I find a copy of the clip? Or a transcript?

FalafelKid,

I'm TCM from RevoGaming.net. I'm wondering if you would like to affiliate? A link to your blog would be shown in the Affiliates section on every page in return for a link on you weblog.

If "Bruce" was unaware of the taping of the call, and needed a link to seriousgamer007's blog - just last week - how is it possible that seriousgamer007 claims - TWO weeks ago - that emagin had contacted him and threatened him with legal action?
Guy's pathological.

i remember reading one of his chat logs that the 'threat' was a fake and it was done to draw in more people.

anyhow, i honestly think that seriousgamer is bruce westcoat. it's the only way he could've 'known' this 'nintendo meeting.' also, i think he really is a 29 year old marketting specialist just based on how he writes (when he's out of seriousgamer mode) and how he draws people toward his 'product' (whether you love it or hate it.)

I am not Bruce Westcoat.

Makes you wonder indeed doesnt it.

The odds of me knowing this was one in a million unless there was something more.

More to me than you could possibly imagine.

So many of you focus on me and want to believe that I am a fake, work for a marketing company, eccentric, pathological, or what have you.

The simple fact of the matter is I do know.

And you know about me as much as you know about the Revolution Officially from Nintendo.

Little to Nothing at all.

You dont have to believe what I say is true. Because it doesnt matter. The truth will be in the unveiling. And no it will not be at the TGS or in Germany.

I know you're a pathological liar because you've admitted more than once. I also know your an fanboy attention whore with too much time on your hands.
I definitely agree that you're not Bruce Westcoat. And I'm certain you've never talked to him about eMagin 's alleged involvement in the "revolution".
You are entertaining though.
Hey are you still unemployed (gee , I wonder why that is?), cause I could hire you to be some sort of entertainer for my company. Like a Jester or something. Whattya say?

To SeriousGamer 007:

I for one only read your blog for a laugh. You have said several times that you would stop posting, and yet, you still post. Give it up, you get a hard on from the attention. If you weren't drunk off the readers, you would allow a section to post comments. You don't because you know it would be full of comments like this one putting you in your place.

Where is the proof? Blurry screen shots and half assed college entry level design renders!??!!? Show us something real or go away. You are giving the Revolution a bad name. PS3 and M$ Fanboys laugh at us because of people like you.

Hi all...

If anyone wants it, here's the phone clip with "Bruce":
http://rapidshare.de/files/3248858/bruce1.wav.html

"Does anyone think Nintendo might hesitate showing the controller because of SONY possible late 2006-,07 launch"
Not at all, the PS3 specs should be almost finalised by now, it'll be too late for Sony to copy Nintendo's ideas this round. The TGS is perfect to unveil the controller, it's the "biggest thing" for the rest of this year, and Nintendo did say it will all be reveal during 2005...

"that's 50 min.,and plenty can be done."
Agreed, I wonder how he can fill up the time otherwise?

"how is it possible that seriousgamer007 claims - TWO weeks ago - that emagin had contacted him and threatened him with legal action?"
He never mentioned "eMagin" contacting him, just that he was sued for legal action, he says it's for leaking too much info about the "Visor".

"i think he really is a 29 year old marketting specialist just based on how he writes (when he's out of seriousgamer mode) and how he draws people toward his 'product' (whether you love it or hate it.)"
He is... he's told us in previous posts.

darken-
he implied , suggested , overtured and innuendoed that emagin was the legal aggressor. (just like all his nonsense - all hearsay, no fact). He even came out and claimed "eMagin - I have fulfilled your demands" at the end of the
entry claiming he was threatened with legal action.
If you don't think he was implying eMagin...?
And now we find out eMagin never heard of the guy or his site as recently as last week.
Fake? (as if there were doubt)
All the proof I need.

Sounds good to me. I think the Revolution will probably be able to do whatever the other guys will (Except HD), but the specs might not look as good on paper. There are a lot of factors at play when you're talking about system power. If fanboys want to believe that the Rev lacks the power of Xbox 360 and PS3, they will. Nobody gave a darn back when N64 had graphics far superior to Playstation, and nobody seemed to notice that GameCube was more powerful than PS2. So it makes you wonder how much it really matters.

I'm excited about the way the Revolution is headed. I like the extremely small footprint, sleek look, and the mentality Nintendo seems to have about making a system everybody wants to have in the house. Easy to use free WIFI gaming, portability, bakwards compatibility, something new and different for a controller... I can't wait.
Zelda Delayed to Next Year
Twilight Princess development team requests extra time to make it a better game.
by Matt Casamassina
[59631]

August 16, 2005 - Nintendo announced this morning that its anticipated new adventure game, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has been delayed. The title, formerly scheduled to debut this November around the world, has since been postponed to 2006 so that the developer can continue to make the game better.

"After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess," said Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan. "Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31). We'll provide a specific date at a later point in time. While this may come as a disappointment to many eager fans, it will absolutely enrich the game and make it a multi-million seller."

Twilight Princess, developed by Nintendo and directed by Majora's Mask overseer Eiji Aonuma, was previously set to be the company's big holiday game. In fact, analysts expected the game to be Nintendo's single greatest deterrent to consumers potentially interested in Microsoft's next-generation console, Xbox 360, which is set for a November launch. The delay leaves Nintendo without a major holiday release on GameCube.

In the epic adventure, a 17-year-old Link travels across a gritty, realistic world and is able to move into an alternate dark land called the Twilight Realm, where he transforms into a wolf. Twilight Princess won a number of considerations by critics when it was presented in playable form at the Electronics Entertainment Expo. However, even then, members of the development team hinted in interviews that they would have to work overtime in order to meet a holiday release.

Nintendo has released seven new screenshots of the game in motion. Readers are directed to our images section for new shots of Link exploring a populated town and manipulating the snow as the wolf.

Stay tuned for much more on the game in the coming weeks and months.
