Xbox360 controller gets keyboard treatment

In slightly off-topic news, it looks like the Xbox360 crowd will be treated to an unusual controller as well: one with a full keyboard integrated. Thanks to GamersReports for the story and pic. So Nintendo aren´t the only people going for something revolutionary. HANG ON! Maybe this IS the revolutionary feature - and Microsoft stole it already... (not entirely serious) What do you think?

Remember Phantasy Star Online. I think there is a gamecube-controller with a keyboard.

So, Microsoft stole the idea from the GameCube. VERY revolutionary ;)

THERE it is:

they won't use it for communicating or control, only for simple things like texting and stuff. don't ever get excited about it again.

Good ol' Microsoft and their original ideas!

In case nobody notices.. that keyboard ain't that big. You aren't gonna find the home row on that dinky thing. So I can't imagine it would be all that useful or comfortable to use this to express complete thoughts in a MMORPG, for example.

There's some logitech pc controller that's like a full on keyboard with controller handles and buttons on the sides. That's a real keyboard controller.

This thing looks more like an inconvenience than anything else.

I really hope the revolution comes out with a keyboard. I feel gross and alone playing an online match where you can't communicate with the other person.

I think that they tried to do a giant Keyboard/Controller for Dreamcast, but I don't know if it was ever released outside of Japan. Or if it even made it to the public. *shrugs*
